{"id":29,"date":"2007-10-28T05:54:37","date_gmt":"2007-10-28T11:54:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/japanton.com\/?p=29"},"modified":"2007-10-28T05:54:37","modified_gmt":"2007-10-28T11:54:37","slug":"sunday-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/japanton.com\/?p=29","title":{"rendered":"Sunday Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Just a quick mention on the three classes I attended today.<\/p>\n<p>First up was Nagato Sensei&#8217;s class.\u00a0 There was much emphasis on distance for safety.\u00a0 How to move at the correct distance to keep safe.\u00a0 Three Kukishin Katas were done but I can only remember that tatsumaki was one of them.\u00a0 You\u00a0 know punch, punch, kick punch.\u00a0 Anyhow I will show you what we did because Taijutsu can not be explained in words right?<\/p>\n<p>Next up was Sensei&#8217;s class.\u00a0 I was told that my technique was good.\u00a0 For those of you who have trained with sensei, you know that comment is not necessarily good.\u00a0 I think next time I am told that by a Japanese instructor I will apologize.\u00a0 There was lots to be said about the way that you are to attack while doing kata.\u00a0 I have to be careful in my training, not enough time is spent on attacking to win.\u00a0 A uke&#8217;s we often go through the motions of throwing out a punch and not offering any type of realism when attacking.\u00a0 The other side of this is not helping your partner at all.\u00a0 You must start compliant and move to a point of resistance by building on success slowly.\u00a0 For the most part I have noticed as Uke&#8217;s we know only resitance or compliance not the broad middle.<\/p>\n<p>Rob&#8217;s training was last.\u00a0 If you have questions ask those who have seen him.<\/p>\n<p>Visiting Kyoto tomorrow with Alice.\u00a0 Then Tuesday back to training 3 times that day, I hope.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Just a quick mention on the three classes I attended today.
